One of the greatest accomplishments in one’s life is learning how to love yourself.  Once you have that, your confidence emerges and the beauty of your true self arises. Confidence comes from your journey of soul searching, adventures, trials and tribulations. There are so many reasons of why gaining confidence as a woman can be quite the difficult task, but once we have that, our journey becomes that much more powerful and personal.

Building confidence comes in two forms, and that can be internal or external. Internal confidence is a state that is made up of how we think and feel about ourselves, and can change frequently depending on the types of situations that we are in and how we respond to it. External confidence is based on factors like how we look, how much we weigh, how others view us and how much we’re appreciated. From my personal experience, working on my confidence internally has been the hardest because you have to deal with everything from the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Many people build their self-esteem based off of external factors, but I believe that you need to work on your internal confidence first. When you work on your internal confidence first, you become more and more comfortable with your own abilities, qualities, personality and beauty. All of those elements will be transitioned externally and you gain the confidence to accept who you are and the person you have become.

Confidence can come easy for some people, but for others, tips and guidance can always help to put you on the right path. Here are some tips that I have personally used on my path to self confidence that I think my CurvEssentials readers can benefit from!

  1. Believe in Yourself

Start believing in you and all that you are capable of. You should think about yourself as smart, resilient and capable of doing anything you set your mind to, because you are and you can.

  1. Start Talking Positively

Start implementing positive self-talk by complimenting yourself, and focusing on what makes you beautiful and unique. There is nothing stronger than what you feed your mind and starting that positive inner dialogue is a very important part of building your confidence and self-esteem.

  1. Find Your Purpose

Find out what it is in your life that makes you happy and what you believe your purpose in life is. When you have that sense of purpose and you do what you love, it can have one of the most positive affects in your life and for your self-confidence.

  1. Support Others

Celebrate and support everyone around you and in your life. By supporting and motivating others, you become more self-assured, there is more positivity and you become more connected to others. By supporting them, you support yourself.

  1. Be Patient

Be patient with all of your set goals and what you have accomplished. Be proud of who you are, acknowledge your progress, and celebrate even your smaller achievements.

  1. Take Care of Yourself

Make sure you take care of yourself by eating well to fuel your energy, taking a mental break when you need it, and exercising so that you will feel good mentally and physically. Set realistic goals and work towards achieving them.

  1. Love What You Wear

Your style and the clothes you choose can greatly have an effect on your mood, health and overall confidence. What you wear is an extension to how you feel on the inside. So make sure you wear what makes you happy, what compliments your curves and whatever you feel good in.

Building your internal and external self-confidence is crucial when it comes to being happy in life and accomplishing all of your goals. Although self-confidence doesn’t come easy, it is a necessary part of your journey in life and who you are becoming. Is today the day you will choose to shine with confidence?
